The noise your exhaust makes can often tell you a lot about its condition.

A hissing, which indicates a crack in the exhaust manifold, exhaust pipe or a leaking gasket.
A rattling under the car it could mean that the exhaust system has become misaligned, or loose.
A tinkling sound could be a problem with your silencer or maybe the manifold.
If the car making a roaring noise it could be corrosion of the silencer or a hole in the exhaust pipe.
